What if my child is absent from school?

The Above and Beyond program works closely with the school with attendance issues. You do not need to send a note or email when your child is absent or dismissed early. There are no refunds for missed classes, but if your child missed materials given out during the missed class he/she will get them when they return.

What if the school is dismissed early or canceled?

If school is canceled or if there is an early dismissal, classes will not be held. We build make-up classes into our schedule for this purpose.

Can I send in snacks?

There is a no-snack policy for the Above and Beyond program at Stratfield school.

Technology Policy?

In order for all students and instructors to enjoy their after-school program time, cell phone/ tablet/ personal computer use is not permitted during class time.

How does dismissal from school to Above and Beyond work?

After school students will be dismissed to the Media Center and greeted by our site director for attendance before joining their instructor and going to their after school classroom.

How does dismissal from Above and Beyond work?

Parents are requested to pick up their children at the front entrance at 4:45. The Site Director and Instructor will walk the classes down to the front lobby for dismissal.

Can my child walk home?

Yes, with written permission.

Can I pick my child up late?

No, prompt pick up is greatly appreciated as our instructors and site director have commitments after their time with us. Repeated occurrences may result in the student’s removal from the program.

I have an idea for a class. What should I do?

We always welcome new ideas and new teachers that want to be a part of our program! Reach out to the director sarah.janisch@gmail.com to learn how to become part of the program, however big or small you would like your part to be!
