Happy Monday, Stratfield families!
I hope that you were all cozy in the chill of this weekend. It seems like fall has really arrived. We have another full week of good stuff to keep juggle enjoy, so let’s get to it!
One last Walkathon Update: WE ACTUALLY HIT $20K!! With a huge thanks to two generous final donations from The Jean Louis Family and The Ryan Family, we have hit our goal. Can you believe it? The generosity in our community is so incredible - thank you so much to each and everyone who donated in support of this year’s activities. Every dollar made the difference.
Our overall Walkathon Fundraising Winner: 1st Grade! Congratulations to all our 1st graders.
On Friday, the PTA purchased 30+ new books and learning supplies for SES Students! We were able to use over $800 in Scholastic Bucks, a wonderful secondary benefit from the Book Fair in Spring 2026. Many of these books will go directly to the library, along with a healthy handful of learning supplies (flashcards and other supplements). The Scholastic Bucks account has a healthy balance remaining, and we'll use it with guidance from SES teachers and the administration on what's most needed.
Above and Beyond (Afterschool Enrichment Program) starts today, Monday, Oct 19th! Gentle reminder to change your child’s dismissal instructions in School Dismissal Manager as soon as you read this (if you haven’t already!). You’ll need to do so for Thursday classes as well, which also start this week. Questions about the programs or logistics? Please reach out tostratfieldschool.aboveandbeyond@gmail.comwith any questions.
Early Dismissal tomorrow, Tuesday, October 20th at 1 pm (Note that this is earlier than the regular early dismissal.)
Proof Pizza Kits will be sent home with your children on Tuesday this week! Thank you so much to parent Sarah Clausen for coordinating this effort. If you have capacity to help us with distribution on Tuesday morning/early afternoon, please reach out to Sarah at 508-561-9514.
Huge thank you to everyone who attended our PTA Board Meeting last week, in person or remotely. Special thanks to our wonderful Librarian, April Colón, for generously sharing her space with us for the meeting.
- Big thanks to BOE member Jackie Baredenwerper for joining us to share more about the Board’s process and answer questions.
- The PTA Board unanimously passed the proposed budget, which you can view here.
- You can find the recording of the meeting here.
Evening Conference Playcare is this week! If you have a teacher conference on Tuesday evening, drop your kiddo(s) off in the gym for some fun, safe play with our very own Stratfield Dad Volunteers. Playcare happens in the gym on October 20th from 5-8 pm; you can pre-register here (recommended) or just drop in. More details on this free community service can be found below.
New route, same vibes: The Halloween Parade is back! Join us at Stratfield at 9:30 am Friday, October 30th for our beloved Halloween Parade. This year, the students will have a new route that goes all the way around the school, giving more parents and caregivers opportunities to see our kiddos and cheer them on. Students will leave the main office door, then head right toward the Peace Garden, around the school, and re-enter through the main office door.
Trunk or Treat is next Friday! Stratfield’s very own Trunk-or-Treat is back and brighter than ever (literally, the event team has spotlights!). Join us on Friday, October 30 from 6-7:30 pm in the Stratfield School Parking Lot. No sign-up is required for trick-or-treating kids.
Don’t forget to renew (or join for the first time!) Your PTA Membership: You can join or renew on our website here.
Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Warmly,
Kristyn + Christine
