It was great to see so many of you at Open House last week. As we head into the first five-day week of school, we’ve got lots of updates for you.
Join us in person (or remotely) at our first PTA Meeting this Wednesday, September 16 at Stratfield. We’ll meet in the Administrative Conference Room (or move to the Cafeteria if parent attendance necessitates it). The board will review this year's draft budget and discuss the big initiatives for the first half of the year. The agenda and Zoom links to join will be sent out on Wednesday morning. All are welcome to attend, and a recording will be available after the meeting.
Walk-a-Thon 2026 is coming on October 2nd! Walk-a-Thon is one of our three biggest fundraisers of the year! This year, we're setting a lofty goal: $20,000 to support our students and teachers. Every dollar raised will go right back into the experiences that make the Stratfield experience special – think author visits and guest speakers, field trips for every grade level, teacher appreciation, and the special moments our kids remember most, like the Variety Show, Family Fun Fair, and Trunk or Treat. On Walk-a-Thon morning, students and teachers will walk a route around the school with the help of the Fairfield Police School Safety Division, cheered on along the way by their devoted fans and groupies (that’s you, grown-ups!). More information coming your way on this later this week.
Room Parents + Fifth Grade Committee will be notified this week: Thanks so much to everyone who expressed interest in these vital roles! These roles are so important for linking our classroom and grade-level teachers, school administration, parents, and the PTA. Notifications for all roles will be sent via email by the end of the week.
